East Maitland NSW 2323 is a suburb in the City of Maitland, New South Wales, Australia. The town is a part of the Hunter Region and is located 161km North of Sydney and 30km North West of Newcastle.
The Hunter River brought life to the region, from Aboriginal habitation thousands of years ago to the comparably recent European settlement in the early 1800’s. The area is wonderfully rich and diverse legacy of Aboriginal and European cultural values.

Getting Around
East Maitland has two railway stations that are part of the NSW Trainlink’s Hunter Line, Victoria Street and East Maitland Stations. These stations were opened in the mid 1800’s and connect residents to other regions of the Hunter and the State.
The suburb is serviced by Hunter Valley Buses, which provides a bus routes that connect East Maitland to other areas within the Hunter.
East Maitland is located along the New England Highway, allowing easy and direct access to other suburbs within the Hunter, Newcastle and Sydney.
